To delete your Skype account without deleting your Microsoft account, you must first disconnect your Microsoft account. Disclaimer: It will take some time for the Skype account to be removed from the database.
Deleting a Microsoft account, for example, is the same as deleting a Skype account since both are now part of Microsoft products. If you haven’t updated or migrated the Skype account you want to delete to a Microsoft account yet, you’ll have to go through it before removing it.
When you delete your Microsoft account, all of your chats and files (as well as those shared with you) will be permanently deleted. You will no longer be able to access old chats, files, or conversations.
Close your account. When you’re asked to sign in, double-check that it’s the account you want to cancel. Make sure the page shows the correct Microsoft account and then continue.
You can also change your account information in the Settings and Preferences section on skype.com by going to your profile, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and selecting Edit Profile under Settings and Preferences. Next, delete all identifiable data from the Personal Information and Contact Details sections.
