Psychonauts, developed by Double Fine, is a story about a boy with psychic abilities named Raz. He escapes his circus family to try and become a member of the Psychonauts, which is made up of other people with psychic abilities. Once he discovers a sinister plot happening at the Psychonauts camp, it is up to him to put an end to it.
The game was released with great reviews, and fans have always wanted a sequel. It wasn’t until The Game Awards in 2015 where Writer Tim Schafer announced a Fig to fund Psychonauts 2. The game was successfully funded and is planned for a 2018 release.
In addition to Psychonauts 2, Double Fine announced a Psychonauts title for the upcoming Playstation VR titled Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin. That game will be a bridge that connects the original Psychonauts with its upcoming sequel.
